Marshall County VINELink Release Scope
Minnesota VINE connects with participating Minnesota county jails and detention facilities. It is the relevant notification channel for a Marshall County Jail event. The state Office of Justice Programs describes typical jail-feed updates every 15 or 30 minutes, not as a continuous or guaranteed real-time stream. The jail remains the source for final confirmation.
Minnesota VINE does not cover Minnesota Department of Corrections prisons. A released VINE result can support a recent custody change, but a certified answer comes from the source record. For Marshall County, request the sheriff's release date, time, and legal basis under Minn. Stat. §13.82, subdivision 2(i). Court records explain the order or disposition behind the event, but do not replace the jail's physical departure data.

- Review the saved alert and note which person, facility, and event types it follows.
- When an alert arrives, acknowledge a phone call with the PIN and confirm the event with the jail.
Telephone calls can continue for up to 24 hours until acknowledged. VINE customer assistance, including forgotten-PIN help, is 866-277-7477. Registration creates a route for future notice. It does not certify that the person was later released at an expected time, nor does it preserve a permanent public event history.
Note: Keep the PIN private and verify the saved facility so the alert follows the intended Marshall County custody record.
Marshall County VINELink Search Screen
The successful manifest capture comes from the official Minnesota VINELink portal.
The Minnesota search screen is the county-jail starting point; the matching record must still be checked for the right jail, identity, and event label.
The interface may change as the vendor updates it, but the source rules remain stable. Select Minnesota, confirm the facility, and preserve the event wording. A generic portal screen does not show that a particular person is held or released. Only a matched record, followed by agency confirmation, can address that question.
Marshall County VINELink No-Result Checks
A no-result is ambiguous. The name may be misspelled, the wrong facility may be selected, the feed may lag, a record may have aged or been purged, the person may have transferred, or there may be no matching booking. It does not prove release. Try the confirmed legal spelling, partial-name form, and any known facility identifier before changing sources.
Then contact the Marshall County Jail at 218-745-5411. Ask whether the person was released, transferred, or never held there, and provide the approximate booking date. If a transfer occurred, ask where the person went. A state-prison transfer leads to DOC. A federal transfer leads to federal court, USMS, or BOP records. An immigration transfer leads to ICE. The county Citizen Request Form also allows selection of the Sheriff, though it is not labeled a formal Chapter 13 data-request form.
The Marshall County Court Administrator route can explain a bond order, disposition, commitment, or warrant. A docket is the legal side of the event. It does not establish the exact moment someone physically left jail, so reconcile it with the sheriff's release or transfer entry.

DOC custody and release notification
Routine Haven notices are described through email or U.S. mail, with phone especially associated with escape. For status, search the MN DOC Public Viewer. An “Under Supervision as of” entry shows that the person left prison but remains under DOC jurisdiction. A confined record may show facility, caseworker, Anticipated Release Date, and Expiration Date. A fully discharged person may no longer appear in the live Viewer, which can require a DOC Records Management request.
Confirm Marshall County VINELink Releases
VINE is near-current notification data, not a certified archive. It can lag the jail, and it may not retain an old event for public search. It does not cover BOP, USMS, or ICE custody. Minnesota Haven does not replace a DOC release or discharge record. Each alert must be checked with the custodian that created the underlying event.
